Outstanding Global Network Student Award

The Outstanding Global Network Student Award recognizes students pursing Master’s or Professional Doctorate degrees in studies at one of Northeastern’s network campuses and who have demonstrated excellence in one or more of the following areas: academics, research, leadership, teaching or impact.

Passionate about evidence-based practice and advocacy, she is dedicated to fostering diversity and accessibility in the field. As historian for the Northeastern University Student Speech-Language-Hearing Association, she strengthens community connections while balancing a work-study position. Through leadership roles and initiatives like Brain Talk Foundation Day, she actively contributes to both the university and the broader community. Kelly is committed to advancing equitable communication access and making a lasting impact in speech-language pathology.

Daniel is a master’s in analytics student at Northeastern’s Roux Institute, specializing in applied machine intelligence. With a background in business administration and accounting, he is passionate about leveraging data-driven solutions in business, healthcare, and finance. He has applied machine learning and statistical modeling to projects such as student retention analysis (Nearpeer) and predictive modeling for medical conditions like heart disease and meningitis. Beyond academics, he fosters community as a student ambassador, global recreation brand ambassador, and PROPEL board member, and he co-founded the Roux soccer club. He is currently completing his co-op at Bangor Savings Bank in Maine.

Panxin (Claire) Liu is earning her master’s in computer science in 2026, and is the recipient of Northeastern University’s Vancouver Campus Graduate Student Award for outstanding contributions in academics, research, and leadership. While studying in the MS in computer science program, she significantly contributed to two team hackathon victories, winning the TELUS Data for Good hackathon and the Northeastern University Climate Resiliency Hackathon. Claire is currently working as a graduate research apprentice on a project with Dr. Mirjana Prpa to enhance an embodied virtual reality LLM English-speaking agent.

Diya is pursuing her MS in computer science at Northeastern, with a passion for leveraging technology to solve real-world challenges and empower communities. Her academic journey has been enriched by her roles as a teaching assistant and lab leader, where she has mentored over 300 students. Diya is the founder and president of Junoon, celebrating Indian culture, and technical manager of the Google Developer Group, where she organized tech workshops for students. Her advocacy efforts led to a campus shuttle, improving safety and accessibility for graduate students. She enjoys dancing, a creative outlet that connects her to her cultural roots.

Yiwen is pursuing an MS in computer science at Northeastern’s Seattle campus. Leveraging her PhD in Law, she believes software engineering can transform traditional industries, while these fields, in turn, present unique challenges and opportunities for tech. This vision led her to found Tech@Crossroads, growing it from six to over 330 members in one year, providing career guidance, technical workshops, and project-based learning. She also advocates for women in tech as president of Girls Who Code College Loop Seattle and a community volunteer for AnitaB Seattle. Through her work at Uplift NW, she develops software solutions to support disadvantaged individuals.

Richard is a master of computer science student at Northeastern’s Silicon Valley campus. He is passionate about the intersection of language and technology. As a research assistant, he extended his previous professional experience as a French-English translator to natural language processing applications. He has also taken on leadership roles mentoring incoming co-ops at the Northeastern Institute for Experiential AI, and collaborates with the Natural Language Processing Group under the guidance of Kenneth Church.  More recently, Richard joined the NASA Aeronautics Research Institute. His hobbies include hiking, international travel, and critiquing espressos from Bay Area coffee shops.
