Fatuma Mohamed

Fatuma earned her master’s in international affairs and undergraduate degree in political science and international affairs from Northeastern. As director of Youth Advocacy at the Massachusetts chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations, Fatuma empowers Muslim youth through leadership development and civic engagement. Her experiences growing up in Dadaab Refugee Camp in Kenya shaped her advocacy for displaced and marginalized communities. Her research focuses on urban health disparities and environmental justice. On campus, she was actively engaged in the Somali Student Association, the Center for Intercultural Engagement, the Africana Studies Program, and the John D. O’Bryant African-American Institute.
